What currency are the prices in?

All the prices you see on the Action Records web pages are in UK pound sterling (£).

Can I make payment in my own currency?

We only accept cheque payments in UK pound sterling and Euro's. Cash payments, we accept in UK pounds sterling, Euro's and American dollars. If you want to pay by credit card, we debit your card in UK pound sterling and the amount is automatically converted into your currency on your statement. If you do not wish to pay by credit card, you can go to your bank and ask for a money order/bank draft payable to Action Records in UK Pound Sterling (£) for the order amount.

How do I know how much the order I want to make will cost in my own currency?
Check out this CURRENCY CONVERTER web site for a quick up to date currency exchange value.
Are the video tapes and DVDSyou sell a different format to the video formats in the United States?

Yes, they are a different format. They are in PAL format, which do not run well on American video players, as the picture will appear distorted or you may not have a picture at all.

The videos run perfectly ok anywhere in the world apart from the USA (or if you happen to have an american video player). So please, if you are buying from the USA, please remember that the videos are not compatible with your video players, so if you choose to still buy these videos (either because you collect the artist/band or you can get the video converted) then we will not be able to accept them back and refund you.

Is there a minimum order amount?
Yes, I'm afraid we have had to enforce a minimum order amount. We cannot accept orders lower than £2.99 (excluding postage and packaging) because of bank charges that are charged to us per sale.
How come it can sometimes take you longer to send an order made up of old back catalogue items than it does to send an order of new releases?

Quite often with orders concerning back catalogue items, we have to look in several locations and in our warehouse before we successfully locate the item(s).

Most back catalogue items we have are now deleted, therefore we look hard to make sure we find the item(s) for you. If the item is out of stock and cannot be ordered from a distributor, then we let you know via email as soon as we can.

Do you sell any second hand?

Yes, we are now starting to list second hand items, and there is now a second hand section in the action page.

We've started listing second hand items as we've got some very good second hand items too good and hard to find to not offer the opportunity to purchase them. Please note that all the second hand items are at least in very good condition unless otherwise stated.

How much is postage?
for our postage rates please look on the postage page - this is added after your order is compleate at the point of charging your card.
Who do I make cheques/postal orders payable to?
Please make cheques, postal orders or bank drafts payable to "ACTION RECORDS".
How often is the Action Records web site updated?
The entire database is updated at least every Friday evening. That includes the new releases, sale lists, rarities and back catalogue. Sometimes we get so many good promos in during the week that we make another update mid week. We may start to update every day depending on the level of changes made daily to our stock database.
I live in a non EEC country, can I get my order VAT free?
Yes, orders are VAT free outside the EEC. If you have a VAT registered Business within Europe please contact us..
How do I order if I do not have a credit/debit card?
Please DO NOT submit an order via the secure shopping basket if you are not paying by credit card. We used to offer the option of reserving the items until we receive your payment by post, but unfortunately so many people were reserving items and not sending for them, which made our order processing system less efficient and we just can't afford it anymore. The best we can suggest is to make a note of the item(s) you wish to order and send the order to us along with your payment and address details. If we happen to have sold out of all the items in your order and cannot get back in stock in good time, we will return your payment straight away. If we only have some but not all the items in your order, we will either give you a credit note or refund the difference (please state which you would prefer).
Is ordering from your web site secure?
YES. When placing any personal details such as address or credit card details, the server switches to our secure server and any details submitted is secured by SSL.

My browser doesn't inform me that I am about to enter a secure area..
That is simply because our pages are set in frames and the frame menu at the top is not secure where as the main page is secure, that is why your browser does not inform you.
In order to check that our page is actually secure:

If you are using Netscape, go to VIEW, then to DOCUMENT INFO. This will pull up a page of information about the current frameset.

If you are using Internet Explorer, go to FILE, then to PROPERTIES. There will be a certificate button. Clicking on this button will bring up information whether the page is secure and information about the certificate.

My browser still won't let me submit my order/still says it is not secure...
Your browser does not recognise the certificate authority.

When putting items into your basket, tick as many items as you wish to order on that page, but before you leave that page, press the "Send items to your basket" and this will place all the items you have ticked on that page into your basket.
If you go to another page without pressing this button first, the items will not be in your basket.

Why doesn't the shopping basket save my credit card details as well as my address?
We do not allow the basket to save credit card details where you can retireve them simply via a password, as a security precaution. If we had an on-line file full of customer credit card details, no matter how secure our site is, it may still encourage a committed hacker to have a go at accesing the file, that is why we require you to fill in your credit card details each time.
