Who are Action Records?

Action Records has been established since 1979, starting off on a stall in Blackpool just as the independent music scene was emerging. From there we soon opened a site in Preston in 1981 where we have been ever since stocking a huge collection of new and used music.

We are members of all specialist independent chains therefore we are offered all limited editions and special offers including large quantities on all Record Store Day releases. We have always been at the forefront of music trends throughout the years hosting both in and outstore promotion shows by the likes of Snow Patrol, Fontaines D.C. Bastille, Lathums, Blossoms, Ginnel etc.

We have also established our own record label, releasing music by bands such as The Fall, Mark E Smith, Boo Radleys, Dandelion Adventure, Big Red Bus, Common Cold, Genocides, Tompaulin, Fi-Lo Radio, Monkey Steals The Drum amongst others. Our Latest release is an album by Ginnel.

The shop is open 9.00am till 5.30pm Mon-Sat. Unlike most mail order advertisers, visitors to our shop are always welcome.
